La French is a cultural movement within Toronto’s Francophone community, created for the Francophone and African diaspora communities that continue to shape the city’s cultural heartbeat. Founded in 2023 by DJs Le Curateur, Mendosa, and Sevenstyle, La French was built to bring people together through music, connection, and elevated experiences that reflect both heritage and modern urban energy.

Known for its 100% Francophone music events, La French stands out as one of the only platforms of its kind in the city. It creates a space where the Francophone community and the broader African diaspora can come together to celebrate sounds and rhythms from across the French-speaking world, including Africa, the Caribbean, France, Belgium, and Switzerland. Every edition is designed to feel intentional, vibrant, and rooted in community.

La French has hosted successful events at venues such as Hush Hush, Last Call Cocktail Club, Privé Rooftop, Come See Me, and The Drake Underground, where it has maintained a monthly residency in 2024 and 2025. More recently, the brand has continued to expand its footprint through events like From Paris to Lagos, Parlons French, and other curated gatherings that highlight African and Francophone culture in a stylish, inclusive, and high-energy setting.
